Beginning a New Journey

Confession: I have never been a good blogger. I have tried to blog before, and I simply did not keep up with it. So with this blog, I am not making many promises. I might be inconsistent, or I might not blog at all after this first post. But I do promise that I will try! 

So to tell you a little about myself, my name is CarrieAnn (yes, that is one word now that I am married), and I just got married on May 31st to my best friend, Matthew. I know I'm biased, but I think he is perfect. Perfect for me. And somehow, through all my flaws and imperfections, I am perfect for him.

 I also like to think we look good together, but what bride doesn't think that? :)

Now, before you get the wrong idea, this blog will not exist for me to merely brag about my fairytale life and make all readers jealous. Because guess what? As wonderful as my life is, it is nowhere near a fairytale. There are definitely moments that feel like they have glimpses of magic and fairytale endings, but those never last. Do not think I am a pessimist; I am simply someone who is grateful for the life she has been blessed with, but who has also experienced suffering and sadness in life enough to know that God holds us through all of life's moments and often teaches us the most during the rough patches. 

What this blog WILL be about is my journey. The word "journey" is one of my favorite words. It actually hangs on on our apartment wall. Because I believe that's what life is; a journey to both earthly and eternal destinations. We get to make the choice as to which ways we go, and that means we accept the consequences and roadblocks along the way, both the expected and unexpected ones. I will use this blog to share what I am learning about being a wife. I will share life lessons, thoughts, recipes, couponing tips, and hopefully some funny stories. :) So if you're willing to hang with me, let's start this journey.
